Parallel 44 Presents loves to bring you the funk! This time around it is Brooklyn based Pimps of Joytime on March 23 at Volcanic Theatre Pub. Portland's pigWar will open things and will get you all warmed up with some pure psychedelic soul!

About pigWar:
Named after the bloodless war of 1859 in the San Juan Islands, their live shows are explosive with all-original tunes that pull from the obscure corners of Teddy Pendergrass, Led Zeppelin, The Faces, Lee Scratch Perry, Dilla, and Parliament Funkadelic. Paying homage to old soul music with a modern coat of paint consisting of dusty synthesizers and angular horn lines.
pigWar is a collaboration between Portland-based artists Teddy Presberg and Garett Brennan.
Garett is worldwide renowned folk artist on Blue Coast Records getting his first vocal licks in on the soul scene. Teddy is a sought after producer/side-man on Ropeadope Records (Medeski Martin and Wood, Snarky Puppy, John Scolfied, etc).
They are currently following up on the success of their first four singles with a debut full-length album produced by the Monophonics.
