About Elektrapod:

Elektrapod is the brain child of guitarist Gabe Johnson aka Dr. Pocket (Jive Talkin' Robots, Soulwork, El Dante). Formed with the vision of fusing Funk, Soul, Disco and Riff Rock w/ Groove and Jamband sensibilities, the band aimed from the start to create a band that would truly stand out in their home market of Bend, Oregon and would also be strong enough to hold their own with regional and national acts. There is no doubt that they have accomplished just that in a very short time, truly impressing every single audience they've performed in front of thus far. Tapping uber-talented young chanteuse Ze Rox (Jaccuzi) on vocals, Matthew Smith (Biddewah Trunk) on drums, Tyler Mason (Tone Red, El Dante, FloorRide) on bass, Jarrod Donatelli (Franchot Tone Band, 2nd Hand Soldiers, El Dante) on percussion and new addition Evan Read Mullins on keyboards, he has assembled a truly colorful collection of players, all of whom have tremendous chops and experience, as well as strong creative presence and drive. Elektrapod's repertoire is being built largely from the original works of Gabe Johnson and Ze Rox yet the band has also found group-writing very productive and rewarding, drawing on a lot of magic and synergy in a very short time. After high profile appearances at many, many events, festivals and venues throughout the Oregon, Washington, California and Idaho, Elektrapod is quickly becoming known as one of the hottest live bands to have ever emerged from the Central Oregon area. Come see and hear what all the fuss is about !

About Wil Kinky:

Born and raised on a blueberry farm in Oregon, Wil Koehnke (aka Wil Kinky) began playing music in his early teens. Now he’s in his early twenties and a regular feature on his local Portland scene, playing both solo and with various groups/acts, including Keegan Smith & The Fam, Tony Smiley and the Kinky Brothers. He has Opened for big name acts like Cherry Poppin Daddy’s and Frankie Ballard. Wil Released a Solo EP April 27th 2013 at The Star Theater in Portland, OR. He Has been touring the NW extensively for the last 3 years, averaging over 240 shows a year. Wil has played extensively in Oregon, Washington, Idaho, Colorado and California and keeps moving his music to new regions. Will has performed several NACA events since his first roving artist selection in the NACA West Conference in 2014 .

For all his musical talent, and there’s plenty of it, it’s his rich, vibrant voice that makes an immediate impact, and perfectly suits his rootsy, soulful songs. He’s been compared favorably to established artists like John Mayer and Ray Lamontagne, but there’s enough passion and fervor to these seven tracks to suggest, not only is Kinky / Koehnke his own man, but with the right breaks he can make much the same commercial impact. There’s a nice variety of material here, from the rolling, catchy-as-hell, opening track “It's Alright” to the organic Steve Winwood-esque soul groove of “The Energy Between (Me and You)” and “Dreams I Leave Behind”.
